India is the 4th largest producer of Iron-Ore in the world having produced more than 205 million tonnes in 2018. India’s largest Iron-Ore mining company is National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) followed by Rungta Mines and Tata Steel. Iron-Ore is primarily mined in Odisha, Jharkhand, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh in India.
China consumes more than 70% of seaborne-traded Iron-Ore and more than 50% of the total Iron-Ore produced in the world.
